we are working tirelessly to turn this nova into a prize winner
check back to see the build progress over the next 365 days before sema 2027!
*Please note that the corvette rims are only placeholders. as we do admit They are super cool, we will be using much cooler rims for the final product
Why did we choose a 1969 Chevy nova?
It's a bit of a long story, one that you can find on our upcoming Youtube video titled: "From milk crates to sema: two stories, one build, a lifetime in the making"
Our owner's wife, and also our operations manager, Lindsey, was given a 1969 chevy nova when she was a teenager by her daddy. she adored that car. she learned how to drive with that car, and it gave her her very first taste of independence. the car did have it's issues of course, smelly exhaust, faulty fuel gauge, holes in the floorpan, but lindsey still loved it regardless.
as time went on however, a boy from her school, who had admired the car and was adamant about buying it from Lindsey, one day came by to look at the car while lindsey's dad was out of town. Lindsey, who was tired of smelling like gasoline after every drive (assuming the car didn't run out of gas and leave her stranded on said drive), gave in and sold it to him. she regretted selling that car the moment the keys left her hand.
with all that said, lindsey never forgot about her 1969 chevy nova. she missed it every day since selling it. so when the opportunity arose for her to buy another nova to build, she jumped on it immediately. "Lucy" isn't the same nova from lindsey's childhood, but it was never meant to be. building another nova doesn't erase the regret, but it gives lindsey the chance to revisit something that mattered deeply.
